What is therapy & counselling?
When you need someone to 'hold your hand', help
you along the road of enlightenment or just want someone to talk
to in complete confidence, then it is comforting to have a stable
and secure relationship with a counsellor/therapist.
This relationship will help to explore difficult and sometimes
painful experiences and emotions. There may be feelings of anxiety, depression,
trauma or perhaps the loss of meaning in one's life.
The process of counselling/therapy will help the person
to gain an increased capacity for choice, though which the individual becomes
more autonomous and self determined.
How will hypnotherapy or counselling help me?
You can share problems, feelings and innermost thoughts
and worries with someone who listens and understands how your past
experiences and current behaviours may be linked.
Sessions are creative and will help you to find paths of dealing
with your issues, you may not have noticed to be open to you.
What is hypnotherapy?
In Hypnotherapy, a state of relaxation is achieved
through focused attention. While in this trance-like state, the unconscious
mind is highly receptive to new perspectives and ideas.
The use of imagery and positive suggestions at this time can help
a client imagine and actually experience him/herself in the future,
as he/she desires to be. This makes the changes he/she wants in his/her
life happen much faster and with less resistance, as a result of
the hypnosis experience.
Do you make me do silly things like I have seen
on TV?
Certainly NOT.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes it is. Just imagine when you sleep and you still
learn things at the same time.
Hypnotherapy is a controlled mind therapy during which you may experience
heightened feelings of emotions, excitement, smell, taste or hearing.
How do I make contact with you?
In the first instance you can use my on-line
form to get in touch or email
me directly.
Alternatively you call me on 07961 571 276 and we can have a informal
and confidential chat.
What can I expect to happen?
The first session (the introduction session) will
last between 45 minutes to an hour.
The flat rate for introduction sessions is £15. Home visits
are charged a £15 travel fee in addition to any therapy session
cost.
How long do therapy sessions last?
As everyone is different, some people will need
longer term sessions, whilst others may need just a few sessions.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes.
Therapy sessions are generally an open-ended arrangement, but to
enable the client to schedule their progress, a fixed number of sessions
are agreed. The average number of sessions is between 3 and 6.
The ending of therapy is usually discussed and planned well in advance.
What areas of London do you cover?
Being based in East London (E6), I am happy to see
clients from the areas of Central London, West-End, East London,
Docklands and the outer edges of Essex.
I am happy to make home visits to the client, if the client feels
more comfortable to be in familiar surroundings.
But, I must stress that home visits can only be done if the
client has the ability to cancel any distractions for the duration
of the sessions, i.e no children, partners, pets, etc. to interrupt.
This is to ensure that we can work in a relaxed and calm atmosphere
as well as with total confidentiality.
Most importantly - How much does it cost?
Please review the fee structure here.
What happens after counselling and/or hypnotherapy?
In the final sessions you and the therapist will review one of the following
3 options:
(a) to end your therapy contract;
(b) to start a new therapy contract if appropriate;
(c) consider referral to an external agency, e.g. your G.P., specialist
counselling, psychotherapy or self help groups.

All personal information disclosed to me as a therapist is confidential.

In my line of work, I do have appointments to keep
and it is not always possible to see new clients on short notice.
